Falsification Of The Atmospheric CO2 Greenhouse Effects Within The Frame Of Physics

Abstract: The atmospheric greenhouse effect, an idea that many authors trace back to the traditional works of Fourier (1824), Tyndall (1861), and Arrhenius (1896), and which is still supported in global climatology, essentially describes a fictitious mechanism, in which a planetary atmosphere acts as a heat pump driven by an environment that is radiatively interacting with but radiatively equilibrated to the atmospheric system. According to the second law of thermodynamics such a planetary machine can never exist. Nevertheless, in almost all texts of global climatology and in a widespread secondary literature it is taken for granted that such mechanism is real and stands on a firm scientific foundation. In this paper the popular conjecture is analyzed and the underlying physical principles are clarified. By showing that (a) there are no common physical laws between the warming phenomenon in glass houses and the fictitious atmospheric greenhouse effects, (b) there are no calculations to determine an average surface temperature of a planet, (c) the frequently mentioned difference of 33 degrees Celsius is a meaningless number calculated wrongly, (d) the formulas of cavity radiation are used inappropriately, (e) the assumption of a radiative balance is unphysical, (f) thermal conductivity and friction must not be set to zero, the atmospheric greenhouse conjecture is falsified.

So, given that some of the most prominent proponents of the constant inundation of climate alarmism we are being subjected to in the media have been shown to greatly exaggerate their constant barrage of propagandistic lies, let’s now concentrate on what really ails the world and all of humanity.

Global warming is not a problem.  The alarmism concerning it is a red herring that distracts from the real problems that kill tens of millions each year:

• The lack of the availability of clean water;
• The banning of insecticides for eradicating or controlling insects that are carriers of endemic, fatal diseases;
• The lack of sufficient food to keep deadly starvation at bay, and
• The lack of electricity for a quarter of the world population.

I hope that NASA will stuff that in their pipe and smoke it.  However, until NASA and its GISS (Goddard Institute for Space Studies) stop cooking the books, references to GISS temperature records at the website of the Friends of Lamont County will point to the following note of caution:

….No one in his right mind will base any decisions about the future on tools that cannot determine with acceptable accuracy what the present is and the past was.

• Reality check: UAH (University of Alabama in Huntsville) monthly globally averaged lower atmospheric temperature variations since 1979 as measured by NOAA and NASA satellites.

Update 2009 12 11:

The GISS temperature record can no longer be trusted.

On or around about Nov. 14, 2009, GISS began to use a new global temperature data set that deleted temperature records relating to the late 19th and early 20th centuries.  Not only that, but the temperature data that remained in use were adjusted downward for dates preceding the year 2000 (increasingly downward the farther back in the temperature record they go), thereby creating or exaggerating “warming” trends for individual locations.

“Nov. 14, 2009: USHCN_V2 is now used rather than the older version 1. The only visible effect is a slight increase of the US trend after year 2000 due to the fact that NOAA extended the TOBS and other adjustment to those years.
Sep. 11, 2009: NOAA NCDC provided an updated file on Sept. 9 of the GHCN data used in our analysis. The new file has increased data quality checks in the tropics. Beginning Sept. 11 the GISS analysis uses the new NOAA data set. ”

The “visible effect” of the new, manipulated data set is far greater than the quoted note implies.  The data changes were without a doubt manufactured to create a warming trend where none exists or to exaggerate possibly existing warming trends.

This is not the first time that the gate keepers of climate data were caught in the act of large-scale falsifying of existing data.

Such is the state of the art of the GISS temperature record in relation to any claims about global warming: you are better off not to believe a word of it.

CanadaFreePress published some of this article a few years ago but few saw it because it was quickly pulled after I received a legal threat I was financially unable to fight. Legal threats to silence people are a common practice of supporters of human caused global warming. I related my experience to Dr Fred Singer and he immediately named the lawyer. How did he know? He and others had received threats from the same lawyer.

The threats are part of personal attacks and other tactics perpetrated by nasty web sites like Desmogblog, organized by James Hoggan, Chairman of the Board of the David Suzuki Foundation. William Connolley perpetuated many of the smears through his control of climate entries on Wikipedia. We now know those who were attacked were viewed as real threats by the CRU gang and their supporters at Realclimate….(Full Story with links to background articles)
